Join the LYT® revolution...move better FOR LIFE with the most

effective and efficient way to ignite your body and mind.

What is LYT Yoga® ?

Founded by international yoga pioneer and Physical therapist Lara Heimann, LYT® (Lara’s Yoga Technique) is a sophisticated method of practice that is based on the three principles of Physiology, Kinesiology and Neurology. With a core understanding of movement from a cellular level while highlighting the mechanics of how movement happens, LYT Yoga® is an intense movement experience that systematically overrides the patterns of compensation and poor habits through an exploration of brain mapping and purposeful movement. Simple to both teach and practice, LYT® classes emphasizing intelligent sequencing, smart cueing and alignment.

Stand taller. Move better. Be all in.

The LYT® blueprint

What makes a LYT Yoga® class so special?

THE RESET™

Most of us step on the yoga mat with imbalances in the body. We spend a lot of time sitting, looking at our screens, we do repetitive movements through the practice of a sport, or through our work. Our body develops habits based on our daily life.

These habits have an impact on our posture, our pelvis, our spine and on our connection to our deep core muscles (from the glutes all the way up to the neck). As a consequence, these habits impact the way we move, the way we breathe, and the way we feel.

The Reset is the opportunity to re-establish balance in the body through a neutral pelvis, a neutral spine, engaging the deep core muscles and reconnecting to the breath.

THE SEQUENCES

A 1 hour beginners, advanced beginners and intermediate LYT® class is usually composed of 2 to 3 sequences, which we practice on both sides of the body.

Because we’ve done our Reset, we’re ready to move in bigger movement patterns with our brain more connected to the body and our stabilising muscles all fired up.

In our LYT® sequences, we work on strength, stability, flexibility and mobility. We mobilise the joints and as the sequences progress, we don’t just move in one direction, we move in several planes of motion, on and off the mat!

We do this to improve our functional longevity and long-term adaptability: the ability for the body to do what we want, when we want to.

THE STREAM™

The Stream is that moment when you’ll hear me say: “And now we’re going to put all this together”.

The idea behind the Stream is based on neurological principles: re-wiring the brain to move the way we want to - or take a better path for movement - takes repetition. In this last stage of the class, we “stream” the previous sequences together and add a bit more challenge.

The body is ready to face that challenge because by now we’ve mobilised and "hydrated” the joints and opened restricted areas by mobilising the fascia. The Stream will also feel fluid because of the familiarity of the movements we’ve experienced in the previous sequences.

And finally, after all this effort, it’s time to let go in the position of your choice in Savasana, and when time allows, some guided meditation.
